Alice Cooper and his touring band are gearing up for the release of a new album titled ‘Road’ this year. In a recent interview with SiriusXM, the godfather of shock rock talked about their upcoming record and admitted having trouble keeping exciting news about the album as secrets.

During the conversation, Alice revealed that the album would be out soon and feature all the members of his band, including Ryan Roxie, Nita Strauss, and others. He mentioned that the aim of this album was to display his band’s raw talent with as few overdubs as possible.

Cooper also ensured that all members contributed to the writing process of the ‘guitar-driven rock and roll album’ that was produced by Bob Ezrin. Moreover, he expressed pride in the project and teased an element about it that he couldn’t disclose, but he did reveal that the album’s title was ‘Road’ because it was created by a band that’s constantly on the road.

The vocalist started his words by saying:

“One, the album is going to be coming out very soon. It’s the touring band. Roxie and Glen [Sobel] and all the guys, Tommy [Henriksen] and Chuck [Garric] and Nita. I said, ‘I wanna show this band off.’ So, we did an album in the studio and very, very, very few overdubs in it. Because the band’s so tight.

I wanted them to all do the writing with me. I said, ‘Everybody bring in songs.’ ‘Cause I wanted to – I want everything in house. You know, and Ezrin produced it. I mean, it’s a great guitar-driven rock and roll album.”

His statement, then, continued as follows:

“So, I mean, I’m very, very proud of this album. It’s coming. It’ll be out this year. Then, there’s another element I can’t talk about. I promised I wouldn’t talk about it. [But] it’s gonna be called ‘Road.’ Because this is the band that’s on the road.”

All these aside, the exact release date of ‘Road’ is still unknown. However, while waiting for this project, fans can enjoy ‘Live in Rio’ by Cooper’s band Hollywood Vampires, which will be released this June.
