Johnny Depp’s Involvement In A Fashion Show Receives Backlash From Olly Alexander

Olly Alexander, who had previously modeled for the lingerie brand Savage X Fenty, decided to distance himself from it after the fashion show lineup was released. Alexander shared his displeasure with Fenty on his official Twitter account after it was announced that the Rihanna-owned brand’s fashion show would include actor Johnny Depp.

Depp is scheduled to make a guest appearance during Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty fashion show that will air on Prime Video. The list of celebrities that will appear are names like Burna Boy, Ángela Aguilar, Bella Poarch, Anitta, Taraji P. Henson, Rickey Thompson, and Cara Delevingne.

Alexander reposted a tweet about the news about Depp’s involvement with Fenty and shared his feelings about the situation with a sad face. The performer also replied to a fan that tweeted, “But, ‘Savage X Fenty’ is you, baby. You wear it so well.” Alexander then wrote, “Thank you, but after this news, I won’t be wearing it anymore.”

Controversy and discontent over Rihanna and Depp’s fashion show news for her lingerie brand have stemmed from the live trial that made headlines earlier this year involving the actor and his ex-wife Heard. Depp received $10 million in damages after he filed a defamation lawsuit following domestic violence charges against him made by his ex-wife. Rihanna’s decision to cast Depp in her fashion show has divided her audience as not everyone agreed with the trial’s outcomes that found Depp’s ex-wife guilty.
