Aerosmith’s Joe Perry Addresses Johnny Depp’s Lawsuit, ‘The Truth Will Come Out’
Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry recently shared a post on his official Instagram account to show his support for his Hollywood Vampires bandmate, Johnny Depp, in his ongoing lawsuit with his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Although Johnny Depp and Amber Heard got married in 2015, their marriage didn’t last long. Heard filed for divorce in 2016 by claiming that Depp was abusive toward her and she was a victim of domestic violence. The couple settled out of court, and they divorced in 2017. However, the events between the two sides did not end with this.
In 2018, Amber Heard published an article in the Washington Post in which she wrote about her experiences with domestic abuse. Although Heard didn’t name Depp in her allegations, Depp sued Heard for defamation for $50 million since the article made it difficult for him to appear in movie roles. The defamation trial began on April 12, 2022, in Fairfax, Virginia.
Both sides have been giving their testimonies in the ongoing lawsuit case. The case naturally has attracted a lot of media attention and has become a central topic for many people to express their opinions on the issue. Johnny Depp’s bandmate from Hollywood Vampires, Alice Cooper, had talked about the lawsuit and gave his support to Depp by describing him as the most harmless person he’s ever met.
Depp’s other bandmate, Joe Perry, also recently took his Instagram account to comment on the topic and give his support to Depp. The guitarist wrote that he spent a lot of time with Johnny Depp, so he thinks he knows him well enough. Perry referred to the actor and musician as a generous, giving, and gentleman and stated that he hoped the truth would come out at the end of the ongoing lawsuit case.
Joe Perry’s Instagram post read:
“After living at Johnny’s house and working in his studio with him for countless hours, you really get to know someone. Johnny Depp has a heart as big as the world, generous and giving, and is a gentleman in the true sense of the word! The truth will come out.”
