Adam Levine Reacts To Mick Jagger Dancing To Maroon 5’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’

In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Adam Levine spoke about Mick Jagger’s dance to Maroon 5’s ‘Moves Like Jagger.’

When Fallon asked the singer about Jagger’s recent video on Instagram dancing to a cover of ‘Moves Like Jagger,’ Levine replied:

“Pretty awesome. It’s really surreal. Like, it’s just one of those things you’re like, ‘Oh, my. Like, how is this possible? What is happening? It’s bizarre.'”

A Female Singer Would Actually Perform The Song

Fallon also wanted to learn if the rocker always had ‘Moves Like Jagger’ in mind when he wrote the song. To which Adam responded by saying:

“No, what’s crazy about that song is that when it was bouncing ideas around for the song, I think, initially, it was like, from the people who wrote it and the hook, it was, ‘He got the moves like Jagger.’ And it was kind of supposed to be for a female artist to sing.”

Levine added:

“I was the only idiot crazy enough to say, like, ‘What if I say I have the moves like Jagger?’ [ Laughs ] And they’re like, ‘Are you sure you want to do that?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, why not? Yeah, I got the moves.’ Like, yeah, why not? What’s the worst that could happen? It’s a confidence thing. It’s a swag thing. You know? He’s the man. Like, look at him, like, yeah, he can do that. And it’s cool somehow.”

Mick Jagger’s Dance To ‘Moves Like Jagger’

The Rolling Stones singer posted the video on Instagram about two weeks ago. In it, Jagger dances to a band covering the song in a bar. He captioned the video:

“Moves like who! …Music by Splash.”

His son Lucas reacted to the clip, writing:

“Dadda WHO PUT U UP TO THis?”

In ‘Moves Like Jagger,’ Maroon 5 teamed up with Christina Aguilera. Jagger previously found it flattering and amusing but declined an offer to perform with Maroon 5. He admitted it wasn’t typical of Maroon 5’s style and joked about feeling pressure when dancing to it.
