Recently, ET Canada wrapped up their ‘Game Week’ segment with ‘Fit Check,’ during which they asked about Adam Lambert‘s thoughts on his fashion choices prior to his Queen era. The musician’s amusing reactions to his former attire sparked a humorous conversation.

In the interview, Lambert was shown a picture from the American Idol Top 13 Party in 2009, displaying him in a light blue shirt paired with a black jacket that boasted a sequined collar. Upon seeing this, the vocalist responded with laughter, offering an amusing commentary on the outfit he had once chosen to wear.

“There were times along the road that I thought something looked good because – This was the beginning. It was like the first Red Carpet I did. So, you know, in my mirror in my little apartment, that looked better than it actually looked on the Carpet. [Laughs.] But the cool thing was that the shirt matched the background. That was a striking look.”

Interestingly, this photograph was taken in the same year that Brian May and Roger Taylor chose to recruit Lambert after watching his performance on American Idol. Throughout the years he’s been with the band, the singer’s style surely changed a lot.
