Adam Lambert Explains How He Feels About Performing With Brian May And Roger Taylor
Queen’s touring lead vocalist Adam Lambert recently talked about his close relationship with his bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor and expressed his happiness for getting to tour with the legendary band once more in 2022.
As you know, Adam Lambert was hired by Queen following his successful performance of ‘Bohemian Rapsody’ at his audition for American Idol. He performed with Queen for the first time in 2011 and then joined them for a short European tour and then, they just kept going.
Queen + Adam Lambert were getting ready to embark on a worldwide tour in 2020 but it was unfortunately postponed following the outbreak of Covid-19. Although it was supposed to take place this year, it was announced some months ago that it has been rescheduled for 2022.
During his recent interview, Adam was asked to share his feelings about their upcoming tour and his band members. Lambert said that he’s very excited to hit the road again with Roger Taylor and Brian May again and called him his family. He went on to say that he really enjoys seeing the iconic duo on stage because they light up and do justice to their legacy.
Here’s what the interviewer asked:
“How does it feel knowing you’ll be back on tour with the band next year?”
To which Adam Lambert responded:
“Yeah, the funny thing is that now this has been pushed twice – we were supposed to be out on the road last summer, but then we pushed it to this year, and now we’ve pushed it again to 2022. Now that we’re going to finally do it again, I just love these guys. They feel like family, and we do truly get so much joy out of being on stage together, and seeing the audience light up.
For me personally, I just love seeing Brian and Roger light up as well – this is their glory, their legacy. As soon as they get on stage, they just explode with light. It’s amazing.”
