Adam Lambert Clarifies His Religious Belief, ‘I’m Not Christian’

Queen’s touring lead vocalist Adam Lambert shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing his religion after a fan said she’s paying for him due to his statements on Lil Nas X‘s controversial music video for his track, ‘MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)’ and apparently, Lambert is not a Christian.

As many of you might know, after Lil Nas X uploaded the music video of ‘MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)‘ on his official YouTube channel, the internet has exploded since it was an in-your-face statement about the LGBTQ+ community, filled with Biblical references. While it was a monumental video and already found itself a place among the classical LGBTQ+ music videos with more than 100 million views only in less than two weeks, some people found it wrong since it has debatable points such as Lil Nas X giving satan a lap dance.

Due to the fact that Adam Lambert is a huge supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and the video speaks queerness in its every bit, he shared a post on his official Twitter page supporting the music video by stating that he’s excited about its success and the video is also amazing artistically with its symbols, in addition to being refreshing.

After receiving backlash from some of his fans who think the music video was inappropriate because of the fact that Biblical symbols were used to celebrate something the Bible strictly forbids, along with finding it wrong to support the LGBTQ+ community, Adam Lambert also defended the video by stating that Lil Nas X used symbolism rather than disrespecting a religion.

Apparently, his reaction wasn’t enough since a fan who was sad to see Adam Lambert defending Lil Nas X’s video shared a post on Twitter stating that she’s praying for Queen’s frontman to come back to his faith. However, Adam wasn’t feeling the same way as his fan and shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing that it’s not his faith since he’s not Christian, therefore stressed the unnecessity of bringing religion into this matter.

Here is what the fan said:

“Sad you took this stance – you know better – Jesus loves you – I’ll pray but I’m not staying to watch – I hope I hear you come back to your faith.”

Here is what Adam said:

I’m not a Christian Tammy. Never have been. That’s not my faith. I’m an Aquarius”
