Ace Frehley Picks The Best Singers In Rock, Leaves Paul Stanley Out Of The List

Ace Frehley, the legendary guitarist and founding member of KISS, has recently shared his list of favorite singers of all time in an interview with Louder Sound. While the names he mentioned seem fair to most, there’s one glaring omission – his own bandmate, Paul Stanley. With their tumultuous history, this snub has fans talking.

The rift between Ace and the rest of KISS has been no secret, with tensions boiling over on multiple occasions. Ace previously called out Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons for deceiving fans, claiming they announced that he, Bruce Kulick, and Peter Criss would appear at concerts without ever actually contacting them. They also had friction when Paul didn’t apologize to Ace and Ace freaked out and told him that he is ‘not a man.’

In a recent interview, Ace Frehley revealed his favorite singers in rock history,  and it’s no surprise that Paul Stanley was left out. Among Given the rocky relationship between the two, it’s possible that lingering tensions played a part in his selections. Or, perhaps Ace simply doesn’t hold Paul’s vocal chops in high regard. Among the names Paul Stanley wasn’t involved in were Paul Rodgers, Robert Plant and Mick Jagger.

He said:

“Paul Rodgers is way up there on top, and I love Robert Plant and Mick Jagger too. Nobody sounds like Jagger. He has his own style.”

Whether it’s a result of personal animosity or genuine musical preferences, Ace Frehley’s list of top rock singers has undoubtedly raised some eyebrows. However, the drama and tension in KISS are nothing new and surprising, that’s why Peter Criss and Ace Frehley decided to leave the band on separate occasions and focus on different tenures. KISS is currently on their final tour and the band was expected to reunite with their iconic lineups but instead, the band is performing with Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer.
