AC/DC guitarist Stevie Young has returned to perform with the band after being hospitalized in Buenos Aires. This was confirmed by a new video shared by AC/DC from their recent show in the city.

The band’s return to the stage comes after Young’s brief hospitalization raised concerns among fans. His spokesperson had previously provided an update on his condition during the health scare.

“Out of an abundance of caution, he was admitted to a local hospital where he is undergoing a full battery of tests,” the spokesperson said. “Stevie is doing well and is in good spirits. He is looking forward to getting on stage on Monday.”

The band celebrated their successful Buenos Aires performance with an enthusiastic social media post.

“Who made who, Buenos Aires? PowerUpTour,” AC/DC captioned their video from the show.

Young’s quick recovery allowed the band to continue their PowerUp Tour without further delays. This brought much relief to fans who had been concerned about the guitarist’s health.

The hospitalization occurred under specific circumstances that have now been clarified. Rolling Stone reported that Stevie Young was hospitalized in Buenos Aires on March 20, 2026, due to dehydration and exhaustion following a high-energy rehearsal for AC/DC’s PowerUp Tour. He received IV fluids and rest at a private clinic and was discharged the next day on March 21. The band later confirmed he was “feeling great” following his recovery.

The Buenos Aires show proceeded as scheduled and marked a triumphant return for the guitarist. Billboard noted that the Buenos Aires show took place on March 22, 2026, at Estadio River Plate, with Stevie Young successfully returning to the stage after his hospitalization. The setlist included classic hits like “Back in Black” alongside new PowerUp tracks. This demonstrated the band’s continued energy and commitment to their fans.

The PowerUp Tour represents a significant milestone for AC/DC as they continue their South American leg. Billboard detailed that the tour includes upcoming dates in São Paulo on March 25-26, Rio de Janeiro on March 29, and Santiago on April 2. This ensures fans across the continent will experience the legendary rock band’s electrifying performances.

Stevie Young’s role in AC/DC extends beyond this recent health scare. It represents a crucial link to the band’s legacy. NME explained that Stevie Young, nephew of AC/DC founders Malcolm and Angus Young, has served as the band’s rhythm guitarist since 2014. He initially filled in for Malcolm who retired due to dementia. He later became a permanent member and is featured on the 2025 album PowerUp. The PowerUp Tour marks AC/DC’s first major tour since 2016. The band maintains lineup stability and has confirmed a North American leg starting in May 2026.
