2025 is already looking promising for metal fans with major album releases on the horizon. Over 20 names and bands will be releasing new albums in February alone.

Dream Theater kicks off the month with their 16th album, ‘Parasomnia,’ arriving on February 7. This upcoming album will celebrate the return of original drummer Mike Portnoy after 15 years.

Next up is Lacuna Coil. They will release their first album since 2019, titled ‘Sleepless Empire’ on February 14.

On February 21, Killswitch Engage will release their latest work, ‘This Consequence.’ Similar to Lacuna Coil, the upcoming record will be their first studio album since the 2019 release, ‘Atonement,’ and since the 2022 live album, ‘Live At The Palladium.’

February 28 will see two big releases. Architects will drop ‘The Sky, the Earth & All Between,’ their first album in three years since ‘The Classic Symptoms Of A Broken Spirit.’ The British metalcore band has already released four singles from the album ahead of its release: ‘Blackhole,’ ‘The Curse,’ ‘Seeing Red’ and ‘Whiplash’ —and no, the last one isn’t a Metallica cover.

On the same day, Obscura will release ‘A Sonication,’ continuing their trilogy. While the band recently faced controversy for ‘stealing’ riffs from a former member, the band is going ahead and dropping the release soon.
