41 Years Ago Today Everything Changed For AC/DC And Rock History, Here’s How Brian Johnson Was Announced As The New Singer

Hard rock band AC/DC remembered the anniversary of Brian Johnson’s addition into the band by sharing a new post on their official Instagram account.

Back in 1980, Brian joined AC/DC following Bon Scott‘s passing due to acute alcohol poisoning. After hiring Brian, the band released one of the best albums in rock history, Back In Black in July 1980 and started a new era.

The album had lots of great hits such as Hells Bells, Shoot To Thrill, Back In Black, and many more. In the weekly charts, Back In Black was on top of the UK Album charts and ranked number 4 on the US Billboard 200.

The band shared the picture of the press release that was published in 1980 considering the hiring of Brian Johnson by AC/DC and celebrated this special anniversary in the perfect way.

Here is what AC/DC captioned:

“OTD 1980 – A record company press release announces that Brian Johnson has joined AC/DC.”
