Zakk Wylde Details Ozzy Osbourne’s Workout Routine To Get Back To Touring

Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde gave an interview to Ultimate Guitar in which he shared how Ozzy Osbourne workouts to recover and get back on the stage.

On February 6, 2019, Ozzy Osbourne was hospitalized due to flu complications after his doctor’s suggestion. As a result, he had to postpone his ‘No More Tours 2’ tour’s European leg. His health issue was reported as a severe upper-respiratory infection, and doctors feared that this could develop into pneumonia. In the following days, Osbourne was moved to intensive care.

Although fans were expecting him to get well soon and continue the tour, he later canceled the tour and all shows scheduled for 2019 as he was seriously injured from a fall while he was still in the recovery process. The 73-year-old musician’s health problems continued, and he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in February 2019.

Osbourne revealed this publicly in January 2020, and in February 2020, the musician canceled his 2020 North American tour. His mobility has been severely affected by his health condition, and he has been undergoing physical therapy to recover.

In the interview, Wylde stated that Osbourne is still working on getting well enough to tour, and as soon as his powerlifting, deadlift, and bench numbers are back to ‘Ozzy’s world-class shattering standards,’ they will be back on the stage. Wylde then said Ozzy is ‘all good,’ and they are done working on his new record. However, he added he isn’t sure about the release date.

Ultimate Guitar‘s Justin Beckner asked Zakk Wylde the following:

“Are there plans with Ozz on the books yet?”

As a response, Wylde said:

“Yeah, as soon as Ozz is ready to roll and his powerlifting and his deadlift and his bench numbers are back up to Ozzy’s world-class shattering standards, we’ll have the boss back up there doing it again.”

Beckner then asked:

“How often do you talk to Ozz?”

Wylde responded:

“We text every now and then. We just got done working on his record, so I was talking to him throughout that whole thing. It’s all good man. I’m not sure when that’s coming out.”

Following his 2020 album ‘Ordinary Man,’ Osbourne started working on his follow-up album. The album is expected to be released in the first half of 2022, and Zakk Wylde was fully involved in the making process of the album.
