Zakk Wylde And Charlie Benante Will Join Pantera For The Upcoming Reunion Tour
It’s announced that Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante will team up with Pantera members Rex Brown and Phil Anselmo for their new tour, which will be their first after 22 years. The latest additions to the band made the fans thrilled and delighted.
Pantera was one of the world’s most influential heavy metal bands, and they created, released, and performed iconic songs since their first appearance on the stage. However, the tensions and crisis rose when vocalist Anselmo became addicted to heroin which became highly destructive to his life and career. It eventually led to a hiatus, and The Abbott brothers announced that they decided to disband Pantera in 2003 and started a new project, Damageplan.
Shortly after, unfortunately, Dimebag Darrell was murdered by a fan who was angry about the band’s break-up. His brother and drummer Vinnie Paul died because of dilated cardiomyopathy and coronary artery disease on June 22, 2018. Therefore the reunion of the legendary lineup was impossible due to these tragic losses. However, Brown and Anselmo wanted to surprise their followers with upcoming concerts.
The 2023’s tour was revealed when the remaining Pantera members reached an agreement with Artist Group International, and one of their agents, Peter Pappalardo, shared a statement. According to Billboard, Wylde will replace the late musician Darrell as his close friend, while Benante will play the drums following Paul’s death. In 2023, as a part of their longly awaited tour, Pantera will headline many major festivals in North America and Europe, which can be described as thrilling news for their dedicated fans.
