Yungblud discussed the current state of rock music in a recent interview with Rock Sound.

“In hardcore, you got Knocked Loose. In punk, you got Amyl and the Sniffers. In metal, you got Sleep Token. It’s new. It’s like brand spanking new and it’s really cool,” he said. “And I think with this record, what we wanted to make was we wanted to make classic rock music. I think there’s always been such a big stigma with that. It seemed to be an old man genre. I’m like, ‘Why?’ ‘Cuz old men were making it.”

“We were just like, ‘Let’s make something,'” he continued. “And the comment section is a scary place for a new band trying to make classic rock music or rock music or whatever it is, derivative from blues and anything. We were just kind of like, ‘Let’s just do it ‘cuz we love it and let’s try and inspire younger bands.'”

Yungblud is currently making significant moves in the rock music scene. His actions demonstrate his commitment to pushing the genre forward.

Kerrang revealed that the artist has returned to music with an ambitious new single. ‘Hello Heaven, Hello,’ a nine-minute cinematic piece, showcases his innovative approach to storytelling through music.

His dedication to fostering a new era in rock music goes beyond musical endeavors. Vinyl Me Please reported the announcement of Bludfest, a festival celebrating self-expression and community. The event is scheduled for June 21, 2025.

Melodic Magazine highlighted this new phase in Yungblud’s career. The publication noted it represents a bold step forward in his mission to reshape rock music’s image and appeal to a younger generation.

These initiatives reflect his vision of breaking down the ‘old man genre’ stigma. They contribute to creating a more inclusive and dynamic rock music scene for emerging artists and fans alike.
