Yungblud recently addressed criticism surrounding his rapid rise in the music industry, defending his success and dismissing online backlash in an interview with Kerrang.

The British artist responded to accusations that he is an “industry plant” and addressed the criticism he received after performing with established rock legends like Ozzy Osbourne and Steven Tyler.

“I’ve only ever done this with my mates, a tight-knit team that have been with me since I was 16 years old,” Yungblud said. “That means I can focus on my fanbase and my music. Everything else, like hate and love on the internet, is just f*cking noise.”

The musician went further to explain his perspective on his critics and their motivations.

“I have people saying that I had everything handed to me, or that I’m an industry plant,” he continued. “All those people f*cking want is love and validation, and they’re not getting it, so they take it out on me, or they take it out on a young rock band starting out, or a f*cking pop star whose music they think is shit. To me, it’s funny – those people just need a hug.”

Yungblud’s defiant stance comes at a time when his career achievements speak louder than his critics’ accusations.

The 28-year-old Yorkshire-born artist has built an impressive track record of success. My Global Mind reported that his album ‘Idols’ secured his third consecutive UK Number One in June 2025. This was followed by a fourth UK Number One with ‘One More Time’, a collaboration with Aerosmith that marked the legendary band’s first-ever UK Number One album.

His recent Grammy win further validates his artistic credibility. Kerrang noted that at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, Yungblud won Best Rock Performance for his rendition of “Changes” at Villa Park for Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning concert. He performed alongside musicians including Nuno Bettencourt and Frank Bello.

The achievement was particularly significant as Kerrang revealed he became the first British artist in history to earn three nominations in the rock categories in a single year. This historic milestone demonstrates the industry recognition that contradicts claims of manufactured success.

Looking ahead, Yungblud continues to expand his musical output. My Global Mind confirmed he recently released ‘Idols II’, a six-track expansion of his successful ‘Idols’ era. He is also preparing for a sold-out UK arena tour that will culminate in a massive headline show at The O2 Arena, London on April 24, 2026.
