Wolfgang Van Halen recently discussed how David Lee Roth had been getting in the way of their re-release of a Van Halen record. The rocker pointed out these claims while talking to Eddie Trunk, as he was discussing whether he knew how ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ had disappeared from digital platforms. Van Halen said:

“Yes. The contract ran out on putting it up on streaming services. We’ve been working on getting it back, but there are some people involved who do not like that record and are not making it easy to get it back up.”

Who Is Trying To Sabotage The Re-Release

Trunk then asked whether the person who was trying to sabotage the re-release was involved in it. And when Wolfgang confirmed they were, he took a step further and asked if the mystery person was known by the three initials in their names, indicating DLR. Wolfgang discussed:

“Probably. I mean, yeah, you can put it together. I hate to say it because people will think I’m making stuff up, but it’s like, I’d love to have the record back up there; but he doesn’t like it, and he’s not working with us to get it back up there… I hope people who like it have physical version of it.”

The host also asked Van Halen whether he and Roth was on talking terms and why it was so difficult to get the frontman to sign off Van Halen-related projects; the rocker explained, saying:

“No, I don’t [know]. I think that’s why I’m having such a wonderful time with Mammoth. [I think] throughout my time in V.H., you learn things that you wanna do and you wanna apply, you also learn things that you don’t wanna apply.”

He then pointed out to what he loved about his solo band:

“That’s why I’ve been so excited to do Mammoth and to have something from its inception be something pure where you can talk about things and there’s not really any big challenges other than weathering the storm togetherinstead of the storm being dealing with each other. You know what I’m saying?”
