Van Halen posted details about the drummer change and information about the band’s upcoming tour dates.

“Touring drummer Garrett Whitlock and Mammoth have agreed to amicably part ways,” Van Halen said. “We thank Garrett for his time with Mammoth and wish him the best in all his future endeavors.”

Nathan Bulla will take over drumming duties for the band’s upcoming shows. “Nathan Bulla (Intervals, Protest The Hero) will be joining us for drummer duties with the continuation of ‘The End’ tour beginning October 31st in Santiago, Chile and moving on to Europe shortly after,” Van Halen added.

The announcement came as Mammoth prepares to continue touring.

Whitlock had served as the drummer for Mammoth since 2021, backing the band through years of touring and recording. His departure marks a significant change for the lineup as the band moves forward with its “The End” tour, the third album Wolfgang released in October 2025. The album was recorded at the legendary 5150 studio and produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette.

Bulla brings experience from his work with Intervals, the Canadian instrumental progressive metal band that Wolfgang has followed closely over the years. Bulla joined Intervals as their drummer in 2017 for the album “The Way Forward”. His addition to Mammoth marks a new chapter for the touring band as they prepare to perform across South America and Europe through the end of 2026.

Wolfgang formed Mammoth as a solo project that became his full-time focus after Van Halen disbanded in 2020. While Wolfgang plays every instrument and sings on Mammoth’s studio recordings, the band performs as a full lineup on tour, with each member bringing their own musicianship to the live shows.
