Wolf Van Halen Responds To Criticism About Not Playing With David Lee Roth And Alex Van Halen

Mammoth WVH’s Wolf Van Halen replied to a Van Halen fan’s criticism on Twitter about him not playing with Van Halen as a tribute to Eddie Van Halen.

As you know, Van Halen’s guitar icon Eddie passed away in October 2020 and saddened not only his friends and family but also Van Halen fans. His devoted fanbase has been quite sensitive since Eddie’s passing and often demands Wolf to honor his father by performing Van Halen songs.

However, Wolf has established his own band named Mammoth WVH, in which he performs with his band members during live shows but plays all the instruments in the studio when recording. Even though they are a new band in the music world, they are on the rise thanks to Wolf’s talents. Recently, Mammoth WVH was opening for Guns N’ Roses on their 2021 tour.

Even though Wolf is following in his father’s footsteps and has stated on multiple occasions that he is trying to make him proud, some fans have different ideas. When Eddie died, Van Halen disbanded, and since then, many wanted the band to reunite and perform as a tribute for Eddie. On other occasions, they complained about Wolf not singing any Van Halen songs in his concerts.

He has been getting a lot of hate and criticism, but Wolfgang doesn’t stay silent about it. Recently, he got criticized for not using EVH/Wolfgang guitar line on and off stage, but this wasn’t true according to Wolfgang.

Here is what the fan tweeted:

“Your father put his heart and soul into the research and design of the EVH/Wolfgang guitar line, and that’s why he always played one on stage to show how much he believes in it. You, on the other hand, refuse to play one on or off stage. It’s a giant middle finger to your own dad!”

Wolfgang replied by stating:

“The fuck are you talking about? I play a Wolfgang on and off stage all the time. I’m also running the brand with Matt Bruck. It’s what my father wanted. Why are you so dumb?”

The musician continued:

“I don’t mind when people hate me for things that are true, but when these idiots hate me for things that are 100% wrong, it’s just so frustrating. Hate me for the right reasons, ya shitheads.”

The Van Halen fan continued to state that Wolf doesn’t love his father:

“You know what? Dhani Harrison played at his father’s tribute concert to show his love and respect for him. If you can’t at least play the last five shows with Dave & your uncle Alex, none of what you’re posting means a damn thing! At least George Harrison’s son proved he loved him.”

Wolfgang replied by tweeting:

“Hahahaha you heard it here first, folks. I don’t love my dad. Was unaware this dude has been around to analyze the relationship with my father my entire life. The internet was a fucking mistake.”

The musician has been exposed to many hurtful comments from Van Halen fans since Eddie’s passing. However, a reunion is considered impossible as Wolf stated that there could be no Van Halen without Eddie Van Halen.
