Lorna Shore frontman Will Ramos is confused about a recent TikTok trend: #LornaShoreChallenge.
In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Lorna Shore discussed their unexpected rise to prominence, delving into the now-viral TikTok trend. The frontman expressed his thoughts on the phenomenon, highlighting the ‘strangeness’ of the trend:
“When people started doing #LornaShoreChallenge, it was like… how is this trending? We’re literally a deathcore band, our style of music will never and has never infiltrated these people… We’re trending with the normies?! OK, this is strange.”
What The Trend Is About

Even though Lorna Shore was formed back in 2009, the band had a blast with their 2021 album, ‘…And I Return To Nothingness.’ Following the release of the album, ‘To The Hellfire’ suddenly became a hit among deathcore fans. Two years after the release of the album, the TikTok trend surfaced, where various singers tried to sing the breakdown part of the song.
Ultimately, ‘To The Hellfire’ got over 45 million streams. Considering the fact that deathcore is not among the most popular genres, that’s a great number.
Lorna Shore Had A Hard Time Accepting The Fame

After the popularity of their album, the deathcore giants went on to record a new album, titled ‘Pain Remains.’ Although not as popular, the following album too helped the band gain more popularity over time.
Nonetheless, the band did not anticipate achieving such widespread fame, as guitarist Adam De Micco mentioned during the same interview. He found it challenging to ‘justify’ their success during that time. He expressed:
“I had a hard time accepting it. For a while I refused to believe it was happening. It really f*cked with my headspace. I felt like I should have been happier that it happened, like, ‘Why am I not grateful that this attention is all over us?’ But actually I felt like it made it harder for us to justify ourselves.”
