Lorna Shore vocalist Will Ramos recently opened up about his approach to handling fan feedback. He shared his perspective on why he chooses not to let outside opinions influence his creative decisions in an interview with Loudwire.

The frontman discussed the psychological impact of negative comments and how they can overshadow positive feedback from fans.

“Sometimes you’ll have a really good video you’re really confident in, you’re stoked, and then you put it out and you read a whole bunch of good comments,” Ramos said. “And then you read that one bad comment and that one comment just like completely cancels out the hundreds of good comments that you just got and all you’re doing is hyperfixating on that one person.”

He explained how this negative focus can become consuming and counterproductive.

“You’re just like, ‘This person’s so dumb. They don’t know what they’re talking about. Why would they even say that when they’re not right?'” he continued.

Ramos emphasized that his personal satisfaction with his work takes priority over external validation.

“If I’m happy with it, then I’m happy with it and that’s what matters at the end of the day,” he concluded.

This mindset has served Ramos well throughout his journey with Lorna Shore. The band has experienced significant transformation and growth in recent years.

Louder Sound reported that Ramos’ arrival in 2020 marked a pivotal moment for the band. He helped them transition from a well-respected underground act to major players in deathcore. The band’s viral hit “Pain Remains” on TikTok boosted their popularity exponentially. This demonstrated how modern platforms can amplify metal music to new audiences.

The band’s journey to success hasn’t been without challenges. Kerrang noted that Lorna Shore faced numerous lineup changes and hurdles over the years. These included the departure of previous vocalists and serious allegations against one former member. Despite these setbacks, Ramos’ conviction and passion have been central to the band’s perseverance and growth.

Ramos has also expressed his desire to push creative boundaries beyond traditional expectations. Loudwire revealed that he named Sleep Token as his dream collaboration. This reflects his commitment to continually evolve artistically regardless of fan expectations.

This artistic independence aligns perfectly with his philosophy of prioritizing personal satisfaction over external validation. It shows how his approach to fan feedback extends to his broader creative vision for the band’s future direction.
