Valerie Bertinelli recently shared her concerns about her son Wolfgang Van Halen’s early touring days with Van Halen. She reflected on her initial hesitations in a post on Instagram.

The actress and cookbook author opened up about her worries when Wolfgang was a teenager preparing to go on tour with his father Eddie Van Halen’s legendary band in 2007.

“Flashback to 2007 Backstage after Van Halen’s family and friends show,” Bertinelli said. “Essentially, the last dress rehearsal before they took their show on tour. And as you can see in my face, I was still not crazy about my young teenager going out on the road.”

Bertinelli went on to express her pride in how Wolfgang handled the experience and his subsequent musical success.

“I needn’t have worried,” she continued. “Wolf turned out better than fine, he kept his head firmly planted on his shoulders and is showing the world just how talented he is.”

She concluded by highlighting Wolfgang’s recent achievements in his solo career.

“His new single just went number one,” she said. “His third Mammoth album is being released October 24. Music is where he belongs. I’m so damn proud of him.”

Bertinelli’s concerns about Wolfgang’s early entry into the music industry were understandable. The significant transition was happening within Van Halen at the time.

Wikipedia reported that Wolfgang Van Halen replaced longtime bassist Michael Anthony. He began touring with Van Halen in 2007 at just 16 years old. The young musician’s addition to the band marked a pivotal moment in Van Halen’s history. He became the youngest member to join the legendary rock group.

Bertinelli had previously expressed her understanding of Wolfgang’s importance to the band’s dynamic. Van Halen News Desk documented her earlier statement: “This brings joy to Ed. That’s what he wants to do now — just have fun playing. As great as Mike is, this wouldn’t be happening if Mike was still in the band.”

Wolfgang’s musical journey extended far beyond his time with Van Halen. Wikipedia noted that he has since built a robust career. This includes joining the band Tremonti and releasing several solo albums under his project Mammoth WVH.

The transition from being Eddie Van Halen’s son to establishing his own musical identity has been a remarkable journey. This validates Bertinelli’s eventual confidence in her son’s abilities and professional maturity.
