Valerie Bertinelli Addresses Wolf Van Halen’s Nomination For Grammy Awards

Late Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli recently joined A Spoonful Of Paolo for an interview. She revealed her thoughts about her son Wolfgang Van Halen‘s Grammy Award nomination during the conversation.

In February 2021, Wolfgang Van Halen’s ‘Distance’ peaked at number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The single was a tribute to his father, former bandmate, and guitar icon Eddie Van Halen, and it was featured on his band Mammoth WVH’s self-titled debut album as its first single.

Following this news, Wolfgang posted a tweet to thank his fans for listening to him and helping him achieve such success. In addition to that, he revealed that he would want his father Eddie to be here to see this. The following year, ‘Distance’ also brought Wolfgang his first Grammy nomination.

The single ‘Distance’ is nominated for Best Rock Song at the 2022 Grammy Awards. In an interview, Wolf revealed that he is thrilled and shocked for being nominated for a Grammy along with Paul McCartney in the same category. Apart from Wolfgang and McCartney, Weezer, Kings Of Leon, and Foo Fighters have songs nominated for Best Rock Song.

In a recent interview with A Spoonful Of Paolo, Valerie Bertinelli revealed that she wanted to talk to Eddie Van Halen upon hearing Wolfgang’s nomination since she knew he would be proud. Moreover, she stated that Eddie was the only one who would be prouder than her, and they would’ve even competed for who could be more proud of Wolfgang.

During the conversation, Valerie Bertinelli said:

“When he was nominated, it was just so hard because I really wanted to talk to Ed because I know how proud he would be. If anybody was prouder of Wolfie than me, then it was going to be Ed. We were in competition for who could be more proud.”
