Twenty One Pilots is entering a new era.
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun have been teasing that they have been working on new music, but no official announcements have been made. However, some fans have started noticing changes in the band’s digital platforms and receiving messages.
Fans first observed alterations across Twenty One Pilots’ digital platforms, where the artwork for their previous albums was updated with a modified version that included strips of red tape covering the eyes on each cover on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
In addition, some fans have received mysterious messages via post, with the letters originating from the Sacred Municipality of Dema. These cryptic messages build on the lore explored in the band’s previous albums, ‘Trench’ from 2018 and ‘Blurryface’ from 2015.
Furthermore, billboards from the band have been spotted, fueling speculation among fans that a new era and new music are about to be announced.
How The New Music Rumors First Occurred
The anticipation for new music from the duo stems from a trolling incident last year when they performed a ‘new song’ during a livestream celebrating the 10th anniversary of their third album, ‘Vessels.’ However, the catch was that the sound of the drums was manipulated to such an extent that fans couldn’t hear the new song being played.
Building on this move, the duo later filled in for Blink-182 at Lollapalooza Argentina. The pop-punk trio had to withdraw at the last minute due to drummer Travis Barker injuring his finger, providing Twenty One Pilots with another opportunity to keep fans intrigued and engaged.
