“I was happy with how we wrapped up the End of the Road tour; I felt proud to be together with those guys for the end of 50 years of touring,” Thayer said. “It turned out to be an incredible five-year journey that just kept going and going – ups and downs, highs and lows. It was like a rollercoaster at times, but we made it.”

The End of the Road tour concluded with a historic performance at Madison Square Garden on December 2, 2023. The band chose this venue for their farewell show due to its special significance. New York City was where KISS first began their journey in 1973.

Thayer officially joined KISS in 2002 as the replacement for original guitarist Ace Frehley. He has been an integral part of the band’s modern era. His contributions include several successful albums and multiple world tours.

The End of the Road tour launched in January 2019. Despite facing unprecedented challenges during the global pandemic, the tour continued until its grand finale. KISS maintained their reputation for spectacular live performances throughout the tour. Their shows featured their signature pyrotechnics, elevated platforms, and elaborate stage designs.

The tour’s success added another achievement to KISS’s impressive legacy. The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and remains one of the most commercially successful rock bands in history. Their influence on rock music and live performance standards has earned them numerous accolades. This includes their 2014 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
