Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee is pissed off about the current state of the US.
The rocker took to Instagram to share his frustration about the incidents that took place two months into the new year. “This whole new year has been a such a f*cking sh*tshow!!!! From presidents, to wildfires, storms, multiple airplane crashes, multiple deaths i could go on and on,” he wrote.
The drummer added, “F*ck I was thinking maybe we’re just getting all the bad shit out of the way at the beginning of the year so we can get on to having some fun already…. So f*ck this… We’ve decided to start our new year celebrations March 1st is the new New Year!!!!”
In the first week of January, wildfires destroyed the homes of several rock musicians, including Tommy Lee, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Brad Wilk of RATM, and Joe Bonamassa. Lee and his wife, Brittany Furlan, had to evacuate. “We were evacuated last night. The fire is 0% contained. Praying for a miracle,” Brittany shared at the time. The fires, fueled by Santa Ana Winds, spread rapidly and lasted for weeks.
A month later, on February 11, Vince Neil’s plane crashed into a parked plane at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona. One person died, and three others were injured, two critically. Neil was not on board, but his girlfriend, Rain, was. She survived with five broken ribs, while her friend Ashley was also hospitalized. Their dogs, who were traveling with them, also survived. The crash shut down the runway for hours.
With so much chaos in just the first two months of the year, Lee’s frustration is understandable—only time will tell if the rest of 2025 will turn around.
