Following Nikki Sixx’s announcements about their record’s release date in 2024, Tommy Lee recently spoke with Desert Sun about Mötley Crüe’s upcoming music. He said:
“Wait until you hear it, it’s insane. It’s not a full album, but that might be down the road a bit. We’re always writing and doing stuff, so that’s always a possibility down the road. But we just went to the studio not too long ago and recorded three insane tracks, and one of them is called ‘Dogs of War.’ We’re just finishing up the video for it.”
The new music will be the band’s first since guitarist John 5 joined them after Mick Mars retired from touring in 2022 and got into a legal battle with his former bandmates. Referring to the change in lineup, Lee shared:
“For those jonesing for some new Crüe, people are going to bug out. John 5 is playing on it, the guitar work is incredible, and it sounds sick.”
What Did John 5 Have To Say About The New Crüe Tracks?

John 5 discussed the new music during an interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station in September. He explained:
“I don’t know when it’s gonna come out, but everything is a plan. Everything is mapped out and structured, and everything is, ‘We’re gonna do it here and there,’ and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So, the songs are recorded, mixed, mastered. And they’re so good. I can’t wait for them to come out. They’re so good. I’m really excited about ’em.”
Mötley Crüe recorded three new songs with producer Bob Rock in early 2023, including ‘Dogs Of War’ and a cover of Beastie Boys’ ‘(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!).’ So, the guitarist continued:
“Who knows what’s going to happen? I don’t know if we’ll just release singles or an album. It’s up to those guys, so I don’t know. We just record and see what happens. But these songs that we recorded are so good; they’re heavy, and the melodies and everybody’s just killing it on these songs.”
Mick Mars Is Also Working On A New Record

The band’s new music will come out around the same time as their appearances at 2024 festivals like Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Summerfest in Milwaukee, and the Ottawa Bluesfest. Meanwhile, Mick Mars‘ debut solo album will also hit the shelves on February 23.
Mars has already released two singles from his solo album ‘The Other Side Of The Mars,’ titled ‘Loyal To The Lie’ and ‘Right Side Of Wrong.’ The release of ‘Loyal To The Lie’ sparked some talks among fans, though the guitarist said it was unrelated to his departure from Mötley Crüe.
