Tom Morello Says He’s A Union Man While Showing Support To Amazon Workers Who’re Trying To Unionize

Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello shared a post on his official Twitter page showing his support for all the Amazon workers in Alabama who are trying to form a union and working under horrible conditions while revealing that he’s also a union man whose mother was also a union member.

As you might know, Amazon workers in Alabama have been raising their voices about the constantly increasing rates for picking items for delivery as high as 400 per hour or 2,500 per day. Workers stated that as the rates have increased also coronavirus cases have constantly been reported among workers at the warehouse.

Therefore, workers in Alabama are trying to create a union against anti-union Amazon in order to unionize the first warehouse at Amazon in the U.S. However, they revealed that there are people who have been threatened with getting fired if they find out they’re involved with the union.

In order to show his support for the Amazon workers in Alabama, Tom Morello shared a post on his official Twitter page stating that those workers feel both disrespected and unsafe, therefore, a union which is an ultimate way to create power according to Morello, must be achieved.

Here is what Morello said:

Amazon workers in Alabama felt disrespected and unsafe and so they are trying to form a union. This election for 5,800 mostly Black workers in Alabama up against such a huge and predatory corporation as Amazon is the David and Goliath workers’ rights story of the 21st Century.”

Tom Morello shared another post on his official Twitter page, later on, asking his fans to support Amazon workers who are just trying to maintain a safe environment along with justice in the workplace. Morello also gave links to his fans in order to sign a petition to support those workers.

Here is what Morello said:

Support Amazon workers trying to unionize for safety, dignity, and justice in the workplace!”
