Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello posted the photo of a protestor who joined the riots in the U.S. Capitol who stole a podium and questioned why the police officers didn’t show the same harsh reaction that they presented during the Black Lives Matter movement earlier in 2020.

As you might know, the supporters of Donald Trump stormed U.S. Capitol to protest the presidential election which they have observed as ‘fraud.’ Thousands of people marched to the capital in order to pressure Congress to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s win.

Recently Instagram, Tom Morello shared a photo of a protestor who was stealing a podium from the U.S. Capitol and posing for the camera with a smile on his face. In the caption of his post, Morello reminded the extreme actions of police officers during the Black Lives Matter movement and compared it to their reaction to these ‘looters.’

During the BLM movement, which was a protest against racial injustice and police brutality, many people were tear-gassed and arrested by the police. In his reaction to the latest riots, Morello asked why these Trump supporters were not treated the same way by getting shot, tear-gassed, or ‘thrown into an unmarked police van.’

Here’s what Tom Morello stated in the caption of his post:

“Here’s a looter stealing a podium from inside the U.S. Capitol and not getting shot, tear-gassed, or thrown into an unmarked police van. #CoupCoupKachoo”
