Tom Morello has announced a new one-day festival called Power To The People, bringing together music, activism, community action, and a massive all-star lineup.
The festival will take place on October 3, 2026, at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. It is curated by Morello and is being described as a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action.
Bruce Springsteen announced the festival on stage during his show at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., where Morello is currently touring with him. AP reported that Springsteen used the moment to frame the event as a call for collective action, with the festival arriving one month before the 2026 midterm elections.
The lineup includes Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Brittany Howard, Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black, Serj Tankian, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Grandson, The Linda Lindas, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Taylor Momsen, Matt Cameron, The Neighborhood Kids, and Tom Morello. Shepard Fairey will also contribute artwork and perform a DJ set.
Morello said the festival is built around the connection between music and activism.
“The Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality and rock and roll,” Morello said. “It’s about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action. We’re honored to bring this incredible lineup to the D.C. area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope.”
The event will feature performances across two stages. It will also include a Freedom Village, where fans can connect with nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, artists, and community partners. The space is designed to highlight civic engagement, grassroots organizing, education, mutual aid, and social impact work.
A portion of proceeds from all ticket sales will go to VoteRiders and HeadCount. The official announcement says 100% of net proceeds from VIP tickets will also be donated to those organizations. HeadCount will be on site to help fans register to vote and learn more about elections.
The festival also continues Morello’s long history of connecting rock music with political and social causes. As the guitarist of Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, and Prophets of Rage, Morello has often used his platform to speak about labor rights, justice, protest movements, and democratic participation.
With names like Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Joan Baez, Serj Tankian, Killer Mike, and Dropkick Murphys on the same bill, Power To The People is clearly being built as more than a normal rock festival. It is being presented as a day where music and public action meet.
Tickets are set to go on presale on May 29 at 10 a.m. ET, with the general sale beginning on May 30 at 10 a.m. ET.
