Tom Morello slammed fans on X over vax claims about Rage Against the Machine.

“HEY AUSTRALIA—LET’S GO!” the guitarist wrote in his post to promote his upcoming Australian tour. “I’m bringing the high volume fury and the six string fight DOWN UNDER with two headline shows + festival sets at Byron Bay Bluesfest! Presale begins Wednesday at 11 AM AEDT. General on sale begins Friday at 11 AM AEDT. See you in the pit!”

A fan commented on Morello’s post, writing, “Do we still need to be vaccinated to watch your show?” The rocker replied by saying, “Please! Ask somebody next time before you make yourself look this stupid again.”

When another fan asked, “You still making people get vaxxed?” Morello was harsh again as he said, “Baby boy ask somebody before you completely embarrass yourself again.”

Before RATM canceled their 2023 tour due to Zack de la Rocha injuring his Achilles tendon, there were rumors about their COVID-19 vaccination policy. The band’s reunion tour, first scheduled for 2020, was delayed due to the pandemic.

Although they never set a specific vaccination policy, ticket sales happened when many venues had vaccine requirements.

Last year, Morello responded to fan criticisms on X about whether the band required fans to be vaccinated for their 2022 reunion tour. In a tweet that was later deleted, Morello addressed the issue, writing, “No offense but you’re a f*cking idiot. RATM has played 19 shows in the last 13 years and ZERO of those shows have required vax.”

“Pass this along to your idiots friends por fa vor. Also, while you’re mewling about Big Pharma, how about Big Oil and Big Tobacco and Big Landlords and Big Military and Big Elon? It’s called Big Capitalism vs human beings and the our planet. So I accept your apology and let’s aim at the right target bubba,” he added.

It will be Morello’s first time in Australia in over a decade. He joins the Bluesfest lineup, which already includes names like Crowded House, Chaka Khan, TOTO, Hilltop Hoods, Missy Higgins, Vance Joy, Ocean Alley, Tones and I, Gary Clark Jr., Christopher Cross, and Rag’n’Bone Man.
