“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll,’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”

Born as Anna Mae Bullock, the singer made a comeback as a solo artist after she had struggled with her abusive marriage to Ike, who was also her manager and bandmate. Tina’s divorce in 1978 was hard to overcome, and even after 43 years passed, she still had nightmares.

Turner was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016. The following year, she underwent a kidney transplant. In her last years, she suffered from numerous life-threatening health issues, which ultimately resulted in her passing.
