Although he didn’t have any acting experience, Kevin Alexander Clark portrayed the drummer Freddy ‘Spazzy McGee’ Jones in School Of Rock. At that time, he was just a 12-year-old who started playing drums when he was just 3. Kevin didn’t continue his acting career after School Of Rock and passed away after a tragic accident in 2021.
Tragic Story Of Kevin Alexander Clark’s Passing
Born on December 3, 1988, Kevin Alexander Clark had been an ambitious drummer since he was a kid. Clark was so talented in drumming that every one of his performances left the audience in awe. He rose to fame with his role in School Of Rock and won everyone’s hearts. Kevin didn’t appear in another film after the cult comedy because he wanted to make music. As a drummer, Kevin Clark played with Dreadwolf, Funk It Let’s Jam, the Robbie Gold Band, and Jess Bess And The Intentions.
On May 26, 2021, Kevin Clark was struck and killed by a driver while biking in the Avondale neighborhood. After the accident, paramedics arrived at the scene and took him to Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Sadly, Clark was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. The drummer was just 32 at that time, and his untimely passing left his family and fellow musicians heartbroken.
Among others devastated by the sad news, Kevin’s fellow actor and musician Jack Black mourned his passing and took to Instagram to express his sadness. “Devastating news,” wrote Black about the tragic accident. “Kevin is gone. Way too soon. Beautiful soul. So many great memories. Heartbroken. Sending love to his family and the whole School of Rock community.”
Kevin Clark had a chance to rise to fame as an actor after the film School Of Rock, but he chose to pursue a music career instead. Following his tragic death, Clark remained in everyone’s heart as the charmingly-blond young boy with a great drumming talent who didn’t get a chance to go further.
