Former Nirvana drummer and founder of Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl is one of the most influential guitarists in the music industry. As he was the widely respected drummer of Nirvana, he was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2014. Also in their first year of eligibility, Foo Fighters will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in October.

As you know, most musicians experience some embarrassing moments throughout their career in the music industry. It appears Dave Grohl also has a story to tell, as he recalled an incident involving Taylor Swift on his appearance in James Corden’s show.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Dave Grohl recalled the time when Taylor Swift stepped in to save him from an embarrassment at Paul McCartney’s party. He said that at the time the party started to get really good, Paul McCartney got up and started playing a new song.

Grohl added that after the song, McCartney turned to him and asked him to play one. He then said he couldn’t play piano, and panicked thinking what he will do. At that exact moment, Grohl recalled that Taylor Swift stood up and told them she will do a song instead of him, saving him from embarrassment.

Dave Grohl told the story to James Corden, saying that:

“Paul got up and started playing this song on the piano, and it was a new song. It was amazing just to sit in his living room and watch him play the piano. He finished and everyone turned to me and said, ‘Alright Dave, play a song!’

I can’t play piano and I was a little out of sorts at that point. All of the guitars are left-handed and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, what do I do? What do I do?’ and at that point, Taylor Swift stands up and goes, ‘I’ll do a song.’ So she saved my ass.”

Taylor Swift then started to play a song which was Foo Fighters’ ‘Best Of You,’ but Grohl couldn’t recognize the song as he was too high. Looking back on the incident, it seems Dave Grohl owes a debt of gratitude to Taylor Swift for saving him at the party from a shameful situation in front of Paul McCartney.
