The Offspring guitarist Kevin ‘Noodles’ Wasserman announced that he will step away from live performances to address a serious health issue, posting on X.
Noodles said the health problem came on suddenly and requires him to take time away from performing. The rest of the band will continue to tour and perform without him during his absence.
“It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that I need to step away from live performances for a while to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue,” Wasserman said.
He added that his bandmates are supporting him through this time. “The rest of the band has my back, is super supportive, and will keep rocking you all in my absence. I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later. Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart.”
Noodles also thanked fans for their support. “Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it.”
The guitarist’s statement came as The Offspring continues to perform and tour.
Wasserman’s most recent appearance with The Offspring took place on October 18 at Mission Bayfest in San Diego, California. The band will continue with upcoming shows including performances at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on October 24, SEMA Fest in Las Vegas on November 6, and Corona Capital in Mexico City on November 21.
The announcement comes shortly after The Offspring released Supercharged, their eleventh studio album, on October 11, 2024, which was produced by Bob Rock. The band had announced a 2026 North American tour with support from Bad Religion in support of the album. Wasserman’s absence means the remaining band members will carry on the tour without him.
The Offspring is often credited, alongside fellow California bands Green Day and Rancid, for reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the 1990s. The band has sold over 40 million records worldwide and continues to be a major force in rock music. The current lineup consists of Noodles, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dexter Holland, bassist Todd Morse, drummer Brandon Pertzborn, and multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy.
