The Guitarist Stevie Nicks Fell In Love At First Sight

Aside from her remarkable career with Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist, Stevie Nicks has been involved in a series of romantic escapades in her private life. The singer is known for her public love affairs with famous musicians like Lindsey Buckingham, the Eagles members Don Henley and Joe Walsh, and music producers Rupert Hine and Jimmy Iovine.

Her romantic relationships have always been a great source of inspiration in creating many memorable songs. She turned her heartaches into touching works that speak to everyone. While all her love affairs were probably filled with passionate feelings, there was still someone in specific that Stevie Nicks fell in love with at first sight and named the greatest love of her life.

What Was Stevie Nicks’ First Impression Of Joe Walsh?

If you are a worldwide-known artist like Stevie Nicks, every aspect of your music and personal life is under the spotlight. Besides the works they create, famous people’s private lives are also an object of curiosity for their fans and the press. Thus, the Fleetwood Mac singer has been asked several times about her past relationships in various interviews she has joined.

In a conversation with The Telegraph in 2007, Nicks’ long-term career and love affairs were among the main topics of the interview once again. Speaking of her love life, the singer explained that she had gone through different types of love affairs. Some became her great loves, others the loves of her life, and some felt like companions. So, she couldn’t put all her past lovers in the same category since every relationship she experienced was different.

Then, the interviewer asked Stevie Nicks about the greatest love of her life, to which the singer replied the Eagles’ Joe Walsh, with whom she was together from 1983 to 1986. Although she couldn’t explain why she loved him so much, Stevie was sure that she fell in love with Walsh at first sight when she saw the famous guitarist in a hotel bar. She looked at him, walked toward him, and then sat next to him, which marked the beginning of a romantic relationship between the two.

Stevie Nicks’ words about Joe Walsh:

“I don’t know – why do you love somebody? Why do you love them so much that when they walk in the room, your heart jumps out of your chest? I don’t know. But I fell in love with Joe at first sight from across the room, in the bar at the Mansions Hotel in Dallas. I looked at him, and I walked across the room, and I sat on the bar stool next to him, and two seconds later, I crawled into his lap, and that was it.”

Although the couple built a deep connection from the very first moment they met, their relationship was turbulent since both struggled with severe drug addiction at the time. Thus, the pair realized they were affecting each other negatively, and Joe Walsh made the tough decision to break up with Nicks to protect each other.
