Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick has confirmed the completion of the band’s new album through a response to a fan on X.
“It will be finished but not released yet,” Skolnick stated.

The confirmation comes as fans have been eagerly awaiting new material from the thrash metal veterans. The band’s last studio album was released in 2020.
This latest update provides more clarity on the band’s ongoing recording process and future plans.
Metal Injection revealed that the band has completed the drum tracks for the new album. Rhythm guitars, bass, leads, and some vocals are still in the final stages of production. Testament intends to deliver the album to their label by the end of the year.
The recording process brought significant changes to the band’s lineup. Lambgoat reported that new drummer Chris Dovas has replaced Dave Lombardo due to scheduling conflicts. Dovas has brought fresh energy to the band’s sound, despite being born after Testament’s early records were released.
Blabbermouth noted that Testament continues to maintain an active touring schedule. The band has planned European tours alongside Kreator and Anthrax through late 2024 while finalizing the album.
The new album will follow their 2020 release, “Titans of Creation.” The band anticipates releasing the new material in 2025.
