In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jack Black, who performed Swift’s ‘Anti-Hero’ at a benefit event for out-of-work crew members, humorously considered joining Swift’s road crew, influenced by the generous bonuses she reportedly gave her team. He said:
“I’m half expecting our crew to disappear and be like, ‘Where’d they go? They went to the Taylor Swift tour.’ Who wouldn’t want to work on a Taylor Swift tour now when you know you got that kind of cheddar on the back end? So my band, Tenacious D, definitely felt the pressure. We’re giving out some bonuses this year, but we’re going to have to knock off a couple zeros. That’s just too much cheddar. You have to make $1 billion to give out $100,000 to the whole crew, but she did. She made a billion. I might become a roadie on Taylor’s crew.”
Speaking about Taylor Swift’s dominance in the music scene this year, Black had some nice things to say to Swift. He said:
“It just seems like the zeitgeist this year is all about Taylor Swift — it’s all you hear about because she’s broken all the records. It’s like, ‘Has anyone ever in the history of music had a more successful tour?’ I don’t think so, and when you see videos of the audiences at these Taylor Swift shows, it’s kind of like she’s a god.”

Movie,’ in which Black plays Bowser, the Koopa King who is in love with Princess Peach. In an interview with Insider in April, the film’s co-producer, Aaron Horvath, revealed that the idea for his character to sing this song came from Jack Black himself. Also about the process of creating the song, he said:
“Jack Black is an incredible singer and musician, so we spent a night writing the song and sent the demo to Jack. A couple of days later, Jack sent us back a finished track. He had added his own twist on it and his pianist played an original music track for it. We were blown away.”
The music video of the song was also a big hit on YouTube, with more than 57 million views.
