Ted Nugent Says Touring Has Become Increasingly Inconvenient

Renowned rock musician Ted Nugent announced his retirement from touring in a recent episode of his online show, The Nightly Nuge. Nugent, who has been a fixture in the music industry for over five decades, cited complicated logistics and a desire to spend more time with family and pets as the primary reasons for his decision.
The iconic guitarist and singer’s final tour, the ‘Adios Mofo ’23 Tour’ will be a bittersweet farewell to his legions of fans as the curtain closes on a remarkable touring career. Ted first rose to fame in the 1970s as the lead guitarist of the Amboy Dukes before embarking on a successful solo career. Throughout his time in the industry, he has released more than 30 albums, with several multi-platinum and gold records among them.
Known for his energetic live performances, Nugent has earned respect and admiration of fellow musicians and fans alike. His distinctive guitar sound and provocative lyrics have made him a controversial and influential figure in rock history. During his announcement on The Nightly Nuge, Nugent provided a heartfelt statement at the end of his touring days and thanked fans for his incredible journey in the industry.
Ted Nugent’s words about his last tour follow:
“This is adios mofos. This is my last tour. Now while I always play music, I have got new records I’m going to make. I can’t wait to unleash some of these new songs. I got an instrumental called ‘Butterfingers’ that is just greasy; you can’t eat barbecue ever again adequately without the song ‘Butterfingers’ playing loud next to your brisket. The point being is thank you, everybody, for an incredible musical dream.
The musical dream will continue, but I’m not going on tour anymore because, Keith, hotels are jail; yeah, the hotel room is a jail for me. My dogs won’t allow me to not spend the day with them, so Happy, Sadie, and Coco will go on the road with me this year, but the logistics are too complicated when you have dogs and grandkids and kids.”
While it’s clear that Ted’s touring days are coming to an end, his passion for music remains undiminished. As he prepares to embark on his final tour, fans can look forward to the release of new material from the rock legend. Although the live concert experience will be sorely missed, Nugent’s musical legacy will undoubtedly continue to resonate with generations of listeners.
