Ted Nugent addressed critics regarding his state fair performances in a recent YouTube video.

“We play the same in the barn as we do on stage in front of 80,000 people,” Nugent said. “Like we’re going to do in July in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Ted Nugent Band in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the state fair.”

“[People say], ‘He’s down to doing state fairs.’ You’re damn right I’m down to doing state fairs,” he continued. “It’s going to be awesome. I love state fairs. I get huge bags of money. I pay my team and my crew, and my band. Everybody gets paid handsomely. I go home with a bag of money.”

Nugent directly addressed those criticizing his venue choices. He defended both the financial and artistic merit of state fair appearances.

The veteran rocker maintains an active presence in the live music scene. His official tour website revealed upcoming Texas shows at The Post OG in Orange Grove and Coopers Live in Christoval in late April 2025.

His state fair performances have garnered attention across the country. York State Fair hosted Nugent for a memorable show at the Bobcat of York Grandstand Stage on July 28, 2024.

Nugent completed his ‘Adios Mofo ’23’ farewell tour in 2023. However, Blabbermouth reported he continues to book shows at various venues, from state fairs to music clubs.

His venue choices demonstrate his commitment to live performances. The rocker’s recent statements about state fair appearances reflect his practical touring approach and dedication to live music.
