Ted Nugent recently spoke to Nightly Nuge about slavery and credited America for putting an end to slavery. Known to speak his mind about politics and controversies, Nugent said:

“We have a lot to be thankful for here in the United States of America, a very unique quality of life based on God, family, country, divine intervention when the world was in slave until 1776.”

The rocker added:

“When we came to this new land, this new magic land, the miraculous, flurry resource of celebration of individual freedom, was being experimented with getting away from the kings and the tyrants, the emperors, and the slave drivers.”

Nugent mentioned King George’s ‘punks’ tried to take whatever they had and continued:

“Slavery was the standard operating procedure in the world. The king could come and take your women; the king could come and take your wool, the king could come and take your life. They could come and take whatever they wanted, but here in America, when King George’s punks tried that, that burning instinct of self-sufficiency, rugged individualism that the natural drive of my independence, it permeated this new land called America.”

He also mentioned the Patriots and explained what they did in his own words:

“And Patriots, when King George just can’t take my women anymore, and when they come to conquer the bridge to take away our guns so that we are unarmed and helpless and they can take whatever they want, I see some real hardcore sh*t kickers get together and grab our muskets and [say] ‘let’s conquer the bridge this time, let’s let them know that you can’t force us into unarmed helplessness and slavery anymore.'”

Similar to the credit for ending slavery, Nugent credited the USA once again, this time for ‘fixing racism‘. In a video he shared two years ago with his wife, Shemane Deziel, the rocker claimed that systematic racism is a lie and there’s no such thing as white supremacy.

The rocker also asserted that Barack Obama had reignited racism back in America. Nugent, though he recently denied being racist, said that he loved seeing plenty of white people in one of his shows back in 2010.
