Ted Nugent did not mince words when he shared his take on America’s rising obesity rates on The Nightly Nuge. According to the legendary guitarist, individuals must become more aware of what they put in their bodies and how it affects them. Nugent added that the country should be ashamed for having such alarming obesity rates.
In his criticism, Nugent pointed out that the FDA, USDA, and EPA, in theory, should prevent harmful and ‘poisonous’ products from ever hitting the shelves, yet he believes they are not doing enough. Instead, he views these government agencies as the ‘enemy.’
The musician urges Americans to take charge of their health by scrutinizing every ingredient before consumption and adopting a more active lifestyle. He describes Americans as the ‘fattest, slowest society’ and insists they must take a hard look at themselves and commit to overcoming the obesity epidemic.

“Here’s the answer to our health problems; maybe we should have a government agency that monitors the food and the drugs? Let’s call it the Food and Drug Administration. They can save us from all these poisons, wait a minute, oh, if our food is so unhealthy and poisonous and round up ready where every seed of every food product out there is infested with chemicals and incest insecticides and herbicides, maybe we should have a new agency called the United States Department of Agriculture. They could monitor our food production; it would be more healthy. Wait a minute, there is an FDA, and they are poisoning us; there is a USDA, and they are poisoning us.“
“Maybe we should have an environmental agency that would protect us; let’s call it the Environmental Protection Agency; then they could monitor and they wouldn’t allow people to build all these solar panels that are destroying the environment and have slaves in Africa and China of little boys and girls who worked for a bowl of rice a day and create these wind turbines that are destroying the environment have electric vehicles that the lithium and the cobalt and the copper and the mining wait a minute we do have an EPA.”
He added:
“The EPA is the enemy of the environment; the FDA is the enemy of Food and Drug control; the USDA is the enemy of food production in America; we are the fattest slowest society in America, and general Mark Milley, the commander of the U.S military can’t do a push-up you know do I need to say more we should be ashamed of ourselves my friends.”
Nugent, who has never feared to speak his truth even about the most trivial matters, once again made a point to emphasize that while government agencies like the FDA, USDA, and EPA exist, they are failing to protect the nation. It’s up to individuals to take responsibility for their own health and well-being.
