American rapper Tech N9ne recently discussed his friendship with Slaughter to Prevail’s Alex Terrible and Falling in Reverse’s Ronnie Radke. He addressed many people’s wrong impression of these artists in a statement shared on Rock Feed.

The rapper defended both musicians. He emphasized how different they are in person compared to their public reputations.

“When I meet these people, I met Alex [Terrible, Slaughter to Prevail singer] first on the video set in LA, the calmest, coolest person,” Tech N9ne said. “Same thing with Ronnie [Radke, Falling in Reverse singer]. He’s meticulous. He does exactly what he wants musically. Everything. You know what I’m saying?”

Tech N9ne went on to explain his philosophy about respect. He discussed how conflicts often arise from misunderstandings.

“It’s like, you know, these people I guess ‘don’t start no sh*t won’t be no sh*t’ should be the whole thing in the world,” he continued. “Because a lot of people will start something, they’ll throw rocks and hide their hand, right? And then call you the asshole when you react, right? So, I say that to say a lot of people ask me how I’m so humble around these people, cuz these people are humble around me.”

The rapper also reflected on how life experiences have shaped his perspective on relationships and respect in the music industry.

“And we’ve saw a lot of sh*t you know what I’m saying, in our lives. And it didn’t drive me crazy. It just made me respect life more and respect and love a lot more,” he said. “Respect goes a long way, man. And uh I found that you know I people have their ideas of Phil Anselmo and things that they’ve done in the past and things like that but we all got a past and a lot of people don’t know the depth of it and we don’t get no we just do beautiful music and as long as respect is shown, you know what I’m saying?”

Tech N9ne’s defense of these artists comes amid their well-documented controversial histories. Radke’s tumultuous past has shaped both his career and public perception.

Radke’s journey to forming Falling in Reverse was marked by significant legal troubles. The Metalverse reported that Radke served two years in prison starting in 2008 after violating probation from a 2006 Las Vegas altercation. During his incarceration, he began conceptualizing what would become Falling in Reverse, originally under the name “From Behind These Walls.”

The band’s formation story reflects Radke’s determination to continue his musical career despite his circumstances. Wikipedia documented that Falling in Reverse was officially formed in 2008 by lead vocalist Ronnie Radke. The band’s original name was “From Behind These Walls” before evolving into its current identity.

Following his release from prison in December 2010, Radke wasted no time in pursuing his musical ambitions. Frizzell Heritage Music noted that Radke recorded Falling in Reverse’s debut album “The Drug in Me Is You” in just two months after his release. He blended post-hardcore with rap elements that would define the band’s distinctive sound.

The rapid success of Falling in Reverse following Radke’s release demonstrates the resilience that Tech N9ne appears to admire in the controversial frontman. The Poudre Press revealed that in their 15 years together as a band, Falling in Reverse has released five albums and seven standalone singles. They established themselves as one of the significant acts in the modern rock scene.
