The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen paid an emotional tribute to her late bodyguard Mason Haynes following his passing at the age of 52. Haynes died in a motorcycle accident and had previously served as a bodyguard to the Kardashian family and other high-profile celebrities. Momsen described him as far more than a professional companion.

Momsen took to social media to express her grief, reflecting on the deep personal bond she shared with Haynes and the irreplaceable role he played in her life.

“I’ve struggled for days and still am not sure how to process this,” Momsen said. “Mason Haynes was my family, my protector, my confidant and one of my closest friends. When someone knows every dark secret about you and never judges, spends 24 hours a day with you seven days a week, you form a bond that is hard to explain.”

In her tribute, Momsen also highlighted Haynes’ character and the values he stood for beyond his professional duties.

“He was a powerful giant with the softest heart of anyone I knew,” she continued. “Smart as a whip, artistic and most importantly he was always putting others needs first. His advocacy against bullying ran deep within him. I will miss him in a way I can’t explain.”

Momsen concluded her message by extending her condolences to Haynes’ family and urging fans to support those affected by the loss.

“My love to his family who meant more than the world to him,” she said. “If you can, please donate to the gofundme in my story to support this immense loss so many people I know are feeling. I love you Mason, I can’t believe I’ll never hear your voice again. You were truly one of a kind. Hold your loved ones close and don’t take a minute for granted. Love to you all.”

Momsen also shared a GoFundMe link in her story to help support Haynes’ family during this difficult time.

Haynes’ death sent shockwaves through the close protection industry, where he was widely regarded as one of the most respected figures in the field. He passed away on July 4, 2026, just two days before his 53rd birthday. His loss left colleagues, clients, and loved ones mourning a man whose career spanned decades of dedicated service to some of the world’s most recognizable names.

Haynes built his career from the ground up, beginning his work in security while still in his 20s. He went on to work with Scorpion Security before joining Trojan Security UK, the firm with which he became most closely associated. His employer paid tribute to him on Instagram, calling him “Big Mason” and noting he was “Gone too soon.” The close protection community echoed that sentiment, describing him as a “legend in the Close Protection game.”

Over the course of his career, Haynes protected an impressive roster of global celebrities. His earliest and most prominent clients were the Kardashian-Jenner family, including Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kanye West. He was notably part of the security team present during Kim Kardashian’s high-profile robbery in Paris in 2016, one of the most widely covered celebrity security incidents in recent memory. Beyond the Kardashians, he also provided protection for Lewis Hamilton, Charlie Puth, Kevin Hart, and Nicki Minaj.

Haynes is survived by his wife and two children. A GoFundMe campaign was launched in the wake of his death to provide financial support to his family. The outpouring of tributes from across the entertainment and security industries reflects the profound impact Haynes had on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him.
