Taylor Momsen has announced a new version of The Pretty Reckless’ track ‘About You’ that features Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. The news was shared via Instagram.
The bonus version of the song includes the Foo Fighters frontman and guitarist alongside Smear. Momsen explained that she wanted to create something special for the track and reached out to both musicians to collaborate.
“‘About You’ is one of my favorite songs on the record, so I wanted to do something special,” Momsen said. “I called Dave and Pat and asked them if they’d lend their magic to it. It was an amazing time in the studio making music, there’s nothing better than jamming with friends. I couldn’t be happier with the result.”
The bonus version is now available. A music video for the track is coming soon, according to Momsen.
‘About You’ appears on The Pretty Reckless’ fifth studio album, Dear God, which was released on June 26, 2026, through Fearless Records. The album also contains “When I Wake Up,” which extended the band’s record-setting run of number 1 hits on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
Momsen has served as the lead vocalist of The Pretty Reckless since 2009. The band previously collaborated with Soundgarden members Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron on 2021’s Death by Rock and Roll. Grohl and Smear’s connection to Momsen runs deeper than this new collaboration. The three musicians performed together at a Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in 2022, and Momsen appeared with Foo Fighters at the 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala honoring Mariah Carey.
The collaboration arrives as The Pretty Reckless continue their support run alongside AC/DC on the Power Up stadium tour. The tour runs across North America and Europe, with performances at major venues including LA’s Rose Bowl, Chicago’s Soldier Field, London’s Wembley Stadium, and Paris’s Stade de France. The Power Up Tour began on May 17, 2024 and concluded on October 2, 2026.
