Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham recently clarified the meaning behind their mysterious social media posts that sparked reunion rumors. The announcement was shared on Instagram.
Last week, both artists posted cryptic lyrics from their song “Frozen Love” on their social media accounts. This led fans to speculate about a potential reunion. The posts have now been revealed as part of a promotional campaign for a reissue announcement.
“Buckingham Nicks is available for pre-order now, out September 19th,” the announcement stated. “Crying In The Night is yours now. Listen at the link in bio.”
The cryptic posts were actually building anticipation for the reissue of “Buckingham Nicks,” the duo’s 1973 album that predated their time with Fleetwood Mac. The reissue will be released on September 19th. It features the track “Crying In The Night” now available for streaming.
This reissue marks a significant moment in music history. The original album has been largely unavailable for decades. CBS News reported that the album was a commercial failure when originally released in 1973. It was last officially issued on vinyl in 1981. This makes it the first time it will be widely available digitally and on CD in the U.S. since then.
The historical importance of “Buckingham Nicks” extends far beyond its commercial performance. Rhino Records noted that the album’s song “Frozen Love” caught the attention of Fleetwood Mac’s Mick Fleetwood during a scouting visit. This led to Buckingham insisting that both he and Nicks join the band together. The decision launched one of Fleetwood Mac’s most iconic eras.
The remastered edition has been carefully prepared to preserve the original sound quality. Rhino Entertainment confirmed that the remastered version was sourced directly from the original analog master tapes recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. This ensures high-quality sound for this release.
The reissue arrives as part of Rhino’s High Fidelity Series. Two limited vinyl editions are available. Rhino Entertainment revealed that one edition features bonus replica 7-inch singles. The collection will be available exclusively through Rhino’s official store. This makes it a coveted item for collectors and fans of the duo’s early work.
