Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and his longtime girlfriend Aimee Preston were the subject of conflicting reports regarding their relationship status. According to TMZ, the couple, who have been together for over a decade, had reportedly ended their relationship.
Initially, TMZ reported, “It’s over between Steven Tyler and his longtime girlfriend Aimee Preston … TMZ has learned the couple has called it quits on their relationship.” However, the outlet later updated its report, citing sources close to the couple who denied the breakup rumors.
“Sources close to the couple tell TMZ they have NOT broken up and are just fine,” the update stated.
The relationship between Tyler, 77, and Preston, 38, began when she joined as his personal assistant in 2012. Dating rumors started circulating in 2014, and the couple went public at Elton John’s 2016 Oscars viewing party. Their last public appearance together was at the For Janie GRAMMY Awards Viewing Party in February 2025.
According to People, Tyler has four children from previous relationships. He shares daughter Liv Tyler with singer and model Bebe Buell, daughter Mia Tyler with his late former wife Cyrinda Foxe, and daughter Chelsea Tyler and son Taj Tyler with ex-wife Teresa Barrick.
Tyler and Preston, who have a 39-year age difference, rarely talk about each other in public, but they do show affection on red carpets and in occasional social media posts.
In 2023, Preston shared several photos of herself and Tyler covered in mud to celebrate the Aerosmith singer’s 71st birthday. She captioned, “Thankfully we were a complete f—ing mess going into this…makes the whole ‘birthday under quarantine’ thing just part of the plan.”
