Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante addressed fan requests for expanded merchandise options similar to Deftones’ clothing line in a recent exchange on X.

A fan suggested that Spiritbox could create a successful clothing line, particularly if LaPlante had creative control over the designs. This comment sparked the discussion.

“Honestly, I get samples made of a lot of stuff, but if it doesn’t feel good, like the arm hole is too small, the seam is too rough, etc, I don’t make it,” LaPlante responded. “Then, you also have to account for a profitable price point, which still needs to be reasonably priced.”

Another fan expressed willingness to pay premium prices for quality merchandise beyond standard t-shirts and hoodies. LaPlante then elaborated on her approach to merchandise timing and fan consideration.

“I also like to keep in mind: buyer’s fatigue,” Courtney explained. “We just asked you guys to buy a lot of stuff. Album, album merch, tour, tour merch, etc. I wait till I am inspired to have Leanna create a new line with me, but it’s mainly about timing!”

The exchange highlighted LaPlante’s focus on quality control and strategic timing when developing new merchandise for the band’s fan base.

Spiritbox has established itself as a major force in the metal scene. LaPlante’s cautious approach to merchandise expansion comes at this pivotal time, creating a solid foundation for potential business ventures.

Pale Chord reported that Spiritbox’s latest album, ‘Tsunami Sea,’ debuted with over 22,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week, including 10,000 vinyl copies. This impressive performance demonstrates the band’s growing collector interest among fans and suggests a strong market for premium merchandise offerings.

The band’s commercial success builds on their breakthrough momentum from 2021. Vinyl Me Please noted that *Tsunami Sea* marked Spiritbox’s second number one position on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, following their 2021 success with *Eternal Blue*. This consistent chart performance has positioned Spiritbox as a leading female-fronted act in the hard rock scene.

The band’s merchandise strategy has already proven successful in the past. Wikipedia documented that their official merchandise store reportedly grossed approximately $1 million from its opening in 2020 through late 2021. This substantial revenue stream indicates a dedicated fan base that actively supports band-related products beyond just music purchases.

These commercial achievements provide context for LaPlante’s measured approach to expanding their merchandise offerings. The band appears well-positioned to explore premium clothing lines when the timing aligns with their creative vision and market strategy. They have a proven track record of strong sales and a fan base willing to invest in quality products.
