Slipknot’s Jim Root Shows Off His Favorite Guitar And Pays Respect To David Gilmour At The Same Time
Slipknot guitarist Jim Root took his official Instagram account to share a new picture and revealed his favorite guitar of all time.
For over a week, Jim has been sharing the pictures of his guitar collection and giving some information about those guitars. This time, he revealed his favorite one on social media.
In the picture, you can see that there was a black Fender Stratocaster inside the hard case, and it features three single magnetics as well as an alder body and maple fretboard.
Actually, this was a legendary guitar that Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour using, named The Black Strat, and Jim said that this guitar is a representation of history while paying his tribute to David Gilmour.

“There’s really no words to express what this guitar means. On so many different levels. It’s not just a guitar. It’s a representation of history. It’s personal even though it has nothing to do with me.
It’s everything I love and everything I find frustrating about learning and honing my craft and the things I bring to our band. Most guitars are tools. A means to an end. This is inspiration. Inspiration to do better. “
