Slipknot’s Clown Says Corey Taylor’s ‘New Singing Level’ Makes Him Really Emotional

Slipknot percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan spoke in a recent interview with Kylie Olsson and talked about the upcoming album of the band.

Although Slipknot just released their latest and sixth studio album, We Are Not Your Kind, back in 2019, the coronavirus outbreak forced them to record another album as they can not tour right now.

In the conversation, Clown confirmed that they are working on a new album and said that he can not reveal how many songs they recorded so far. But, Clown hyped the community by saying that he is really happy about the album.

Furthermore, Clown pointed out that Corey Taylor’s singing is on another level in this album and said that it makes him really emotional. Additionally, he mentioned that this is the first time they go into the studio with the completed lyrics.

Here is what Clown said:

“I’m not gonna talk about how many songs, because, honestly, I can’t. But I can just tell you that I’m really happy, and the guys are really happy. Taylor is on some level of singing that I’ve never heard him, which makes me really emotional.

Great music has been written, and because of that, my favorite singer on the planet has sang the songs. And this is the first time we can go into a studio with completed lyrics.

When I say ‘completed,’ I mean written, recorded, but he’s still gonna have his time in the studio to project what he wants to for each individual song. So they’re as done as they can be until he comes in.”
