Slipknot performed at Rock Am Ring without drummer Shawn “Clown” Crahan. Frontman Corey Taylor addressed the band member’s absence during the show. The performance was captured and shared by Niki’s Channel.
During the concert, Taylor took a moment to explain why Crahan was not present with the band for their Rock Am Ring appearance.
“Obviously you can see we are missing one of our brothers,” Taylor said. “Clown cannot be here. He is back home, taking care of his family.”
The frontman emphasized that Crahan’s absence was not by choice. He noted his dedication to the band and fans.
“He wanted desperately to be here, but he sends his f*cking love from America,” Taylor continued.
The band proceeded with their full set despite being one member short. They maintained their intense performance style that fans have come to expect from Slipknot’s live shows.
Slipknot delivered a comprehensive performance that showcased their extensive catalog and enduring stage presence. This happened despite the absence of one of their founding members.
Setlist.fm documented that the band’s Rock Am Ring setlist included fan favorites like “(sic)”, “People = Shit”, “Gematria (The Killing Name)”, “Wait and Bleed”, and “Psychosocial”. The performance demonstrated the band’s ability to adapt and deliver a dynamic show even under challenging circumstances.
The comprehensive setlist also featured deeper cuts from their catalog. Setlist.fm’s historical data revealed that the band incorporated songs like “Surfacing”, “Scissors”, and a remix of “Tattered & Torn” into their performance. This showed their commitment to providing fans with a varied musical experience.
This Rock Am Ring appearance was part of Slipknot’s broader touring schedule. Festival documentation confirmed that the performance was included in their Europe 2025 tour. The tour featured multiple stops across the continent including venues like the Zénith de Nancy in France.
The band’s ability to maintain their signature intensity while missing a key member highlights their professional resilience and dedication to their fanbase. This ensured that concert-goers still received the full Slipknot experience they came to witness.
